On Friday 29th June 2018, Breast Cancer support Gibraltar hosted the now yearly Lunar Walk.
Already in it´s eleventh year, participants registered at Casemates square where it all kicked off. All registration fees collected on the day is for the charity.
The walk started at Midnight and the route lead up to and around the stunning setting of the airstrip at night and returned to casemates. It was truly a wonderful experience and the icing on the cake was to see the Moorish castle Lit up in Pink to celebrate and remember all loved ones affected by this illness. Truly an emotional evening for those participating.
The current Miss Gibraltar, Mrs Gibraltar and Mrs Europe cut the ribbon to start the Lunar Walk accompanied by the beat of the drums and the sounds of the bagpipes the 3 beauties led the 673 adults, children and even pets down corral road towards the runway.
A total amount of £6287.80 was raised.
£3365 in registrations and £2922.80 in donations.
The Breast Cancer Support Group thanked the public for its continuous support and generosity and ensured that all the money raised through events or donations goes back into the community by supporting individuals and organisations including the Gibraltar Health Authority in purchasing equipment and training professionals.
An overall wonderful event with outstanding results. Gibraltar Rock Tours would like to congratulate everyone involved and here´s hoping next year will be bigger and better.
